Not in Bhagalpur?
2 h 39 min, starting at sunset.
Nirnaya Sindhu quotes Vyasa: “trimuhūrtaḥ pradoṣaḥ syād bhānāv astaṃ gate sati”, that is, Pradosh is the three muhurtas after the sun has set. Three of the night's fifteen muhurtas are its first fifth, worked out from this city's own sunset.
Why Pradosh begins at 4:52 PM in Bhagalpur
Sunset, and with it Pradosh, comes 33 minutes earlier in Bhagalpur than in New Delhi (5:25 PM). Bhagalpur lies 9.8° east of New Delhi. The Earth turns through that in about 39 minutes, so on longitude alone the sun sets 39 minutes earlier here. Bhagalpur's latitude takes back 6 minutes of that: it changes the length of the day and of the night.
