2 h 43 min, starting at sunset.
Nirnaya Sindhu quotes Vyasa: “trimuhūrtaḥ pradoṣaḥ syād bhānāv astaṃ gate sati”, that is, Pradosh is the three muhurtas after the sun has set. Three of the night's fifteen muhurtas are its first fifth, worked out from this city's own sunset.
Why Pradosh begins at 5:18 PM in Haridwar
Sunset, and with it Pradosh, comes 7 minutes earlier in Haridwar than in New Delhi (5:25 PM). Haridwar lies 0.9° east of New Delhi. The Earth turns through that in about 4 minutes, so on longitude alone the sun sets 4 minutes earlier here. Haridwar's latitude adds another 3 minutes: it changes the length of the day and of the night.
