2 h 35 min, starting at sunset.
Nirnaya Sindhu quotes Vyasa: “trimuhūrtaḥ pradoṣaḥ syād bhānāv astaṃ gate sati”, that is, Pradosh is the three muhurtas after the sun has set. Three of the night's fifteen muhurtas are its first fifth, worked out from this city's own sunset.
Why Pradosh begins at 5:54 PM in Nashik
Sunset, and with it Pradosh, comes 29 minutes later in Nashik than in New Delhi (5:25 PM). Nashik lies 3.4° west of New Delhi. The Earth turns through that in about 14 minutes, so on longitude alone the sun sets 14 minutes later here. Nashik's latitude adds another 15 minutes: it changes the length of the day and of the night.
