Not in Dwarka?
2 h 36 min, starting at sunset.
Nirnaya Sindhu quotes Vyasa: “trimuhūrtaḥ pradoṣaḥ syād bhānāv astaṃ gate sati”, that is, Pradosh is the three muhurtas after the sun has set. Three of the night's fifteen muhurtas are its first fifth, worked out from this city's own sunset.
Why Pradosh begins at 6:10 PM in Dwarka
Sunset, and with it Pradosh, comes 45 minutes later in Dwarka than in New Delhi (5:25 PM). Dwarka lies 8.2° west of New Delhi. The Earth turns through that in about 33 minutes, so on longitude alone the sun sets 33 minutes later here. Dwarka's latitude adds another 12 minutes: it changes the length of the day and of the night.
