2 h 39 min, starting at sunset.
Nirnaya Sindhu quotes Vyasa: “trimuhūrtaḥ pradoṣaḥ syād bhānāv astaṃ gate sati”, that is, Pradosh is the three muhurtas after the sun has set. Three of the night's fifteen muhurtas are its first fifth, worked out from this city's own sunset.
Why Pradosh begins at 4:32 PM in Shillong
Sunset, and with it Pradosh, comes 53 minutes earlier in Shillong than in New Delhi (5:25 PM). Shillong lies 14.7° east of New Delhi. The Earth turns through that in about 59 minutes, so on longitude alone the sun sets 59 minutes earlier here. Shillong's latitude takes back 6 minutes of that: it changes the length of the day and of the night.
